About the Role:

We are excited to bring the world of Rifle Paper Co. to Tampa and are seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Store Manager to lead the opening and long-term success of our newest retail location. Reporting to the VP of Retail & Customer Experience, this role will play a foundational part in launching a brand-new store from the ground up.

Partnering closely with the VP of Retail & Customer Expereince, the Store Manager will help bring the Rifle Paper Co. vision to life through exceptional leadership, team development, operational excellence, and elevated customer experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about customer connection and brand storytelling, and is excited by the opportunity to build a team and store culture from the very beginning.

We anticipate beginning the hiring process in mid-summer 2026, with the store opening planned for Fall 2026.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee inventory receipt, stockroom organization, and sales floor setup prior to grand opening.
  • Implement and train the store team on POS systems, reporting tools, and operational procedures ahead of store launch.
  • Coordinate impactful grand opening events and community engagement initiatives to build local brand affinity.
  • Monitor post-opening performance and stabilize operations to ensure a successful transition from launch to long-term operational success.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Rifle Paper Co., bringing our products, story, and values to life for both customers and team members.
  • Deliver a best-in-class customer experience through strong service standards, team engagement, and personalized customer interactions.
  • Lead the team in building authentic customer relationships that strengthen loyalty and connection to the brand.
  • Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
  • Partner with internal teams to share customer insights, trends, and operational feedback.
  • In partnership with the VP of Retail & Customer Experience, develop and execute local, brand-right initiatives that increase traffic and customer engagement.
  • Maintain exceptional visual merchandising and presentation standards aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Communicate company initiatives, promotions, and product launches effectively to the team.
  • Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and presentation consistently meet company expectations.
  • Manage inventory levels, replenishment, and stock organization while acting as a liaison between the store and Warehouse and Planning teams.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop store team members while fostering a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
  • Oversee payroll, labor scheduling, and store financial performance to support productivity and profitability goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development planning aligned with company values.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support business and organizational objectives.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, Hospitality, Marketing or related field.
  • 7+ years of retail experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within a customer-focused retail environment.  
  • Extensive experience overseeing daily operations including opening/closing procedures, cash management, and loss prevention.
  • Previous experience leading or supporting a new store opening, strongly preferred.
  • Proven success driving revenue growth and achieving key performance indicators through strong leadership and customer engagement.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs, financial management, payroll, and labor planning.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and team development skills with a passion for creating meaningful customer experiences.  
  • Detail oriented with a deep passion for design, illustration, and the unique Rifle Paper Co. aesthetic and products.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to balance customer experience, operational priorities and team leadership.
  • Strong  initiative, professionalism, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for extended period, including shifts up to 8 hours.
  • Ability regularly lift, push, or pull up to 40lbs and occasionally up to 50lbs with assistance.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, or extended hours as required by operational demands.
