    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Requires an ethical employee to work within a secured area to ensure the security of the materials. Receive boxes or containers of documents that contain private or confidential information for destruction. For maximum security, the door will remain locked when no one is working. Work in accordance with applicable contract requirements and adhere to Goodwill standards.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Complete document destruction in accordance with contract standards
    • Weigh all incoming containers
    • Record weight of each container on a Shredding Documentation Sheet
    • Remove paper clips, rubber bands and all hard materials that should not be put into the shredding machine
    • Plug in and turn on shredder, push the red button until the monitor reads Automatic.
    • Open bottom door and ensure a plastic bag is in the canister
    • Begin to shred by placing the shredding materials on the conveyor belt
    • When the bag full light goes on, stop shredding and open the door underneath the shredder
    • Sweep and keep work area clean at all times
    • Adheres to and enforces safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment, and inventory
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Responsible for maintaining document destruction equipment and reporting issues to the Facilities Manager/Director of Contracts
    • Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with agency policies and procedures
    • Ensure confidentiality of records in maintained
    • Ensure area is kept secure and is locked with alarms set as required
    • Bale tying and movement/storage
    • Loading of ball truck, including clean up after loading

    • Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals.
    • Comply with all department and agency policies, procedures and regulations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to read and speak English
    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug test

    • Ability to work in hot/cold, humid and/or dusty environment
    • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, walk and reach for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds
