  • Starting pay rate of $24.67/hour - paid weekly

Shifts Available

  • 2nd: 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • 3rd: 11:00pm - 7:30pm
  • Monday - Friday, Saturdays & Overtime as needed

Overview

This position is directly responsible for all phases of set-up, adjustment, feeding and operation of the automatic case packers and baggers. Checks machine frequently during running time for quality and quantity of production.

Responsibilities

  • Sets-up and adjusts feeds and operates the automatic case packers and baggers
  • Makes adjustments as needed to keep baggers and ACP’s functioning properly
  • Performs PM on baggers and ACPs as directed
  • Performs shut-downs, start-ups and un-jams baggers/ACPs as required
  • Performs make readies as directed
  • Changes rolls on baggers
  • Fills case magazine on case packer
  • Performs quality checks on cases including but not limited to rim dings, sleeve dents, bag sealing, accurate counts, case output damage and conveyor monitoring
  • Communicates issues to operators/QC personnel/supervisor or leads as needed
  • Fills out proper shift paperwork
  • Reads & understands a job jacket - uses information to ensure production is run according to specifications
  • Cleans area during and at end of shift, including putting waste in the baler
  • Feeds and/or packs as necessary
  • Sets up next shift for continued operation
  • Bales up waste

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment        
  • Needs to be able to count and do basic math
  • Basic knowledge of machinery and common tools is necessary
  • Must be able to read and write in English. Needs to be able to communicate quality problems to the operator and/or supervisor

  • Must be able to understand machine specific operating instructions and processes. This is necessary to ensure quality standards are met and the employee’s own personal safety is maintained (as well as the safety of co-workers)

  • Employee is required to stand while performing the essential duties of this job.
  • Pile down handfuls of blanks weighing between 10 and 20 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Requires hand and finger dexterity to keep pace with the speed of the press as it produces blanks
  • Repetitive movement of hands, fingers, arms and shoulders
  • Repetitive twisting
  • Frequent bending to stack blanks on a pallet
  • Lift and handle press equipment dies weighing up to 100 pounds with the assistance of other members of the press crew on an occasional basis
  • Lift and carry 5-gallon ink pails weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Assist in lifting cylinders weighing up to 150 pounds using mechanical hoists on an occasional basis
  • Assist in lifting press rollers and stripper shells weighing up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis with help from the press crew

  • Safety shoes and safety glasses, hair nets & beard nets are required in manufacturing areas
