Job description

Job Description: A Saw Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of the saw to cut material while demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.

Reporting to: Plant Manager – Advanced Manufacturing

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate metal-saw machine
  • Ability to reads job order for specifications (material type, size of stock, dimensions to be cut)
  • Order and maintain stock inventory, and transfer materials to machines for operators
  • Loading and unloading of trucks using forklifts and cranes
  • Installs saw blade and sets blade tension and cutting speed for specified operation
  • Measure work for conformance to specifications
  • Ability to lift 10lbs to 50lbs (manual and crane)
  • Responsible for Saw Maintenance
  • Work according to schedules to assure on time delivery of all jobs
  • Assure all work and procedures conform to Select Tool’s ISO documentation and procedures
  • Assist other teams if/when required
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Experience running a saw is considered an asset
  • Organization & attention to detail
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license
