Job description

UFP Site Built is the leader in designing and manufacturing value-added wood and non-wood products for the construction industry. We offer a wide variety of wood structural components, aluminum decks and rails, and light gauge steel structural components.

The Remote Truss Designer is responsible for the accurate design of roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and Wall Panels utilizing Mitek software

  • Optimize designs for maximum efficiency

  • Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy

  • Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting

  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school graduate

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in roof/floor truss design

  • Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software are preferred

  • Working knowledge of floor and rood systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangars

$45,000 - 65,000 annually

Bonus/Incentive Pay:
A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
