Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Economic Damages Expert Witness to join our team of experts. This individual will serve as a consulting and testifying expert on cases involving economic damages, lost earnings, lost profits, business interruption, diminished earning capacity, related employment matters, life care plan costs, and other financial loss analyses. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in economics, forensic economic analysis, or financial damages assessment, along with exceptional analytical, communication, and report-writing skills. Candidates should be comfortable evaluating complex financial data, developing defensible economic damage models, and presenting opinions through written reports, depositions, and trial testimony.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced economists and financial professionals interested in leveraging their expertise within the legal consulting and expert witness space while maintaining flexibility and autonomy.



Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation to attorneys and legal teams regarding economic and financial issues.
  • Review financial records, tax returns, payroll records, business documents, and other case materials.
  • Analyze and quantify economic damages using accepted economic principles and methodologies.
  • Calculate lost earnings, lost profits, diminished earning capacity, business interruption losses, and future economic damages.
  • Develop economic models and present value analyses to support damage calculations.
  • Prepare detailed written expert reports, rebuttal reports, and case summaries.
  • Provide expert witness testimony in depositions, and trials, translating complex economic concepts into clear and defensible opinions.
  • Collaborate with ESI experts, internal case management and operations teams throughout the lifecycle of cases.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, Business Economics, or a closely related discipline.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in economics, forensic economics, economic consulting, valuation, or financial damages analysis.
  • Prior expert witness experience preferred.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Comfortable participating in depositions and testimony proceedings.
  • Ability to communicate complex economic concepts clearly to attorneys, judges, and juries.
  • High level of professionalism, objectivity, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with forensic economics, business valuation, econometrics, or financial modeling is highly desirable.
  • Professional credentials such as CFA, CPA, CVA, ASA, or ABV are a plus.
