For commercial painting jobs, the typical rate ranges from $1.50 to $4.00 per square foot, depending on factors such as surface condition, type of paint, and job complexity. Experienced painters may charge higher rates, especially for detailed or high-access areas, and costs can vary based on location and project size.

A painter can potentially earn $100,000 annually, especially if they are experienced, work in high-demand areas, or run their own business. Achieving this income often requires advanced skills, a strong client base, and efficient project management. Many painters supplement their income through specialization or additional certifications.
