Superintendent – High-End Residential Painting & Wallcoverings
Location: Northbrook, IL
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonuses
Full-Time

Gallagher Paint & Paper is a rapidly growing luxury painting and wallcovering contractor serving Chicago's North Shore and western suburbs. We specialize in high-end residential painting, designer wallcoverings, cabinet refinishing, fine finish work, drywall repair, skim coating, and specialty finishes.
We are looking for an experienced Superintendent who can lead from the front, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure every project is completed at the highest level of quality.
This is not a desk job. We need a hands-on field leader who understands the trade, can manage crews and subcontractors, communicate with homeowners and designers, and hold everyone accountable to our standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple residential painting and wallpaper projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate and supervise painters, wallpaper installers, drywall technicians, and subcontractors
  • Conduct daily jobsite visits and quality inspections
  • Review project schedules and ensure jobs stay on time and on budget
  • Order and manage materials, equipment, and deliveries
  • Maintain clean, organized, professional jobsites
  • Communicate directly with homeowners, designers, project managers, and office staff
  • Identify and resolve field issues before they become problems
  • Train and develop field personnel
  • Ensure all work meets Gallagher Paint & Paper quality standards
  • Perform final walkthroughs and punch list completion
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in residential painting, wallcoverings, drywall finishing, or related trades
  • Previous experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, Project Manager, or Operations Manager
  • Extensive knowledge of:
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • High-end residential finishes
  • Wallpaper installation
  • Drywall repair and skim coating
  • Surface preparation
  • Cabinet refinishing
  • Insulation and remodeling projects
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and crews
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Comfortable using technology, smartphones, and project management software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in luxury residential homes
  • Existing relationships with painters, wallpaper installers, or specialty trades
  • Experience managing projects valued from $10,000 to $250,000+
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
