Job description

A skilled technician whose work is essential to achieving a high-quality finish. A well-prepped surface ensures the paint blends smoothly, resists chipping, and meets the shop’s quality standards.This role supports both customer satisfaction and the efficiency of the collision repair and painting process.


Core responsibilities

  • Surface preparation: Sanding to remove old paint, rust, and imperfections; applying and sanding body fillers for dents and scratches
  • Masking and cleaning: Taping over areas not to be painted (windows, trim, lights) and degreasing surfaces to ensure paint adhesion
  • Priming and sealing: Applying primers and sealers as needed to create a smooth, even base for the paint job
  • Quality inspection: Checking surfaces for consistency and flaws before the painting team works on them
  • Tool maintenance: Keeping prep tools and equipment clean and in good working order 
  • Safety compliance: Following protocols for handling chemicals and using personal protective equipment (PPE)
