Job description

Xcite Automotive is seeking Automotive Preppers/Painters for our dealership partners in Pinellas Park, FL!

Automotive Prepper/ Painters are responsible for preparing vehicles for primer and paint application and providing quality paint finishes on customers' and clients' vehicles.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare vehicles for painting by washing, sanding, and masking surfaces.
  • Sand surfaces to remove old paint, rust, or imperfections.
  • Ensure all prep work is completed to the required standards and specifications
  • before proceeding with the paint application.
  • Ensure that all masked areas are sealed properly to prevent paint overspray from reaching unintended areas.
  • Apply primer to the prepared surfaces to improve paint adhesion and provide a uniform base for the topcoat.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to avoid contamination of surfaces.
  • Proficiently use tools and equipment like sanders, spray guns, and mixing devices.
  • Keep accurate records of prep work and any materials used.

What You Need:

  • Experience in an automotive body shop or related field is essential.
  • Proficiency in cleaning, sanding, and preparing vehicle surfaces for painting.
  • Ability to identify and address issues with paint application or surface preparation.
  • Understanding of various paint types, primers, fillers, and their proper application techniques.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including walking, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
