The Art Spark is seeking a creative, enthusiastic Art Instructor to lead and support after-school art programs for elementary-aged students throughout the Cincinnati area. This position offers hands-on experience teaching art, facilitating creative projects, managing classroom activities, and inspiring young artists in both school-based and studio environments.
You'll work directly with children in small-group settings, collaborate with classroom assistants, and become part of a supportive team dedicated to fostering creativity and confidence through art education.

About The Art Spark:
Founded in 2010, The Art Spark is a women-owned children's art studio dedicated to nurturing creativity through hands-on artistic exploration. We provide after-school enrichment programs, camps, studio classes, and special events throughout the Cincinnati area.
Our mission goes beyond teaching artistic techniques. We encourage children to ask questions, solve problems creatively, take risks, and discover their own artistic voice in a supportive environment.
With small class sizes and a collaborative teaching approach, we create meaningful experiences for both students and instructors.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead and assist engaging, age-appropriate art classes for elementary-aged students.
  • Teach foundational skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and creative exploration.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and fellow instructors.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain art materials and supplies.
  • Support student creativity while maintaining classroom structure and safety.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and team members as needed.
  • Assist with studio operations, organization, and special events.
  • Follow our behavior policy requirements.
  • Must be physically capable of transporting rolling art carts, art supplies, and classroom materials to and from program sites, including navigating stairs and carrying materials over short distances as needed.

Weekly Schedule:
Monday:
  • Administrative tasks (social media, inventory, organization, studio upkeep): 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
  • After-School Program in Loveland: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
Wednesday:
  • After-School Program in Mt. Lookout: 3:00 PM – 5:15 PM.
Thursday:
  • Art Club at The Art Spark Studio in Montgomery: 4:00 PM – 5:45 PM.
Friday:
  • Studio Events in Montgomery: 5:15 PM – 8:45 PM.
Saturday:
  • Birthday Parties in Montgomery: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
  • Additional special events, camps, and seasonal programming may be available.
  • Approximate Weekly Hours: 20

Qualifications:
Preferred:
  • Degree coursework in Art Education, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children through schools, camps, tutoring, after-school programs, childcare, or recreation programs.
  • Interest in arts education and youth development.

Required:
  • Reliable transportation for travel between school and studio locations.
  • Ability to transport rolling art carts and classroom supplies.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and punctual.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
