The Role
The Store Manager is instrumental in overseeing our studio's daily operations, adeptly handling a broad spectrum of tasks that include key aspects of people management. This role is essential in ensuring a positive customer experience, driving sales, and consistently upholding our high standards of service and operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Efficiency: Guarantee the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the store, ensuring all aspects function seamlessly.

  • Artistic Leadership and Instruction: Lead and assist in painting sessions, focusing on providing clear, creative instruction, and ensuring excellent execution to create a memorable customer experience.

  • Event Preparation and Management: Ensure all necessary preparations and tasks for special events are completed effectively and efficiently.

  • Kitchen Operations Oversight: Actively oversee and participate in all kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to food safety and quality standards.

  • Sales and Customer Satisfaction: Drive sales by engaging in superior customer interactions, focusing on customer satisfaction.

  • Visual Standards and Marketing Collateral Management: Uphold the studio's visual standards by maintaining store appearance, cleanliness, and organization, and accurately implementing and adhering to company guidelines for displaying marketing collateral.

  • Business Performance Reviews: Regularly participate in weekly touch bases with Regional Managers to discuss business highlights, sales, employee performance, operational tasks, and inventory issues.

  • Individual Employee Engagement: Conduct monthly individual touch bases with each team member, discussing achievements and areas for improvement, and providing direct developmental feedback.

  • Performance Tracking and Reviews: Assess and record employee performance on trackers and conduct annual reviews in coordination with the Regional Manager and Human Resources.

  • Schedule Management: Update and maintain monthly schedules created by the Regional Manager to ensure consistent staffing coverage.

  • Time-Off Management: Review and approve time-off requests according to company policies, ensuring adequate daily coverage, with final decisions by the Regional Manager on staffing concerns.

  • Timecard Supervision: Review and verify team members’ timecards weekly, and submit for final approval to the Regional Managers.

  • Compliance and Safety Enforcement: Ensure compliance with alcohol service, general safety, and cash handling procedures where applicable.

  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Handle in-studio customer complaints promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues to the Regional Manager as needed.

  • Inventory and Order Management: Submit accurate inventory counts and orders for review by Operations, and process weekly deliveries in line with company guidelines.

  • Facility and Maintenance Coordination: Report facility and maintenance needs by submitting tickets to appropriate leadership.

  • Innovation and Improvement Contributions: Elevate ideas and suggestions for studio improvements to the Regional Manager.

Role Requirements

  • Full-time availability, with a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Vibrant personality with artistic proficiency.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent sales, customer service, supervisory, and leadership skills.

  • Thorough understanding of products and services.

  • Tech-savvy, proficient in Google Workspace, Slack, etc.

  • Reliable transportation, willing to travel up to 20% monthly.

  • Full-time availability and flexibility in schedule.

Experience/Education

  • 2+ years of full-time management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; OR experience in management required.

  • Applicable formal training in the arts.

  • Prior experience in a customer-focused environment, such as a bar or restaurant setting.

  • Prior experience in group art teaching is preferred.

  • Alcohol Safety/TIPS certification (Muse will provide this training if needed)

  • ServSafe Manager Certification (Muse will provide this training if needed)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, moving, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Agility and stamina to move throughout the studio quickly and safely, including tight spaces and on raised surfaces (i.e. stage).

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that involves music and large groups.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Reliable internet connection.

  • Quiet, professional, and well-lit remote work environment when needed.

  • Reliable technology, including cell phones and computer/laptop.
