Commercial Sales Consultant - Commercial Painting
CertaPro Painters of Chapel Hill

The Commercial Sales Consultant is responsible for driving new commercial business through proactive outreach, relationship development, and professional estimating. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, developing long-term customer relationships, and supporting the successful execution of commercial painting projects.
This position reports directly to the Owner and plays a key role in the growth of CertaPro Painters' commercial business across the Triangle
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Proactively identify and pursue new commercial opportunities through cold outreach, networking, and relationship building
  • Develop relationships with property managers, facility managers, business owners, and other commercial decision makers
  • Participate in industry events and trade shows
  • Attend networking events, association meetings, and occasional after-hours customer events

Sales and Relationship Management
  • Build trust-based relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals
  • Present CertaPro Painters professionally and differentiate us through clarity, reliability, and follow-through
  • Win work in a competitive market by being responsive, prepared, and credible

Estimating and Proposals
  • Conduct site visits to assess scope and gather project requirements
  • Prepare detailed, accurate written proposals that clearly define scope, expectations, and pricing
  • Learn and apply commercial paint systems and products through training and experience
  • Utilize Excel and internal CertaPro systems to support accurate estimating
  • Manage and approve change orders

Production Coordination
  • Communicate project scope and customer expectations to the Operations team
  • Stay engaged during active projects to drive customer satisfaction
  • Assist in resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally

Administrative
  • Maintain accurate job and proposal records in CertaOne
  • Prepare regular performance and activity updates for review with the Owner
