Who will you be working with?
This position will ensure all spray paintings are on task in performing and recording process checks. Fill in on either the steel line or the aluminum line in cases of emergencies or absence.
What do we want to know about you?
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; two to 5 years of experience with powder coat painting process. Ability to interrupt blueprints of a technical nature, BOM's, leadership capabilities, and be a problem solver.

What will your typical day look like?
• Painters make their required checks including oven temperatures, chemical composition of cleaning stations, color matches, mil thickness tests and scratch tests.
• Verifies first piece run conformance has been performed properly.
• Painters should know and follow PSS instructions and should be familiar with hazards of chemicals being used in cleaning solutions, and of proper PPE.
• Responsible to train others on how to hang parts correctly, mask parts correctly, set and adjust spray guns and paint correctly and fills in as a painter on either line (Steel, Aluminum) in cases of illness or emergency.
• Painter should know how to set ovens, proper cleaning solution composition and how to conduct various quality checks.
• Know how to fill out move tickets correctly; perform audits to guarantee consistency and should be able to order paint and paint supplies. Periodically checks inventory to ensure proper quantities are on hand.
• Responsible to report quality issues, personnel difficulties, or any abnormalities to Lead Painter or management and set-up and maintains Kanban boards to meet the start, due and delivery dates. Studies production schedules and estimates the hours required to complete job assignments. Reviews Kanban cards or other schedules to establish priorities based upon start, due or ship dates.
• Use equipment and resources to increase efficiency and productivity of shop, department, or work crew and able to read and interpret blueprints, BOM's, Routers and other technical documents
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
