Requirements

The Automotive Paint Prepper is responsible for preparing vehicles and parts for the paint

process. This position focuses strictly on surface preparation to ensure vehicles are ready for

refinishing by the Paint Technician. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and

committed to producing high-quality prep work

  • Review repair orders and coordinate with body technicians and painters
  • Wash and clean vehicles prior to refinishing
  • Sand repaired areas and adjacent panels for proper paint adhesion
  • Feather-edge, prime, and block sand repaired surfaces
  • Mask vehicles and parts to protect areas not being painted
  • Apply seam sealers and corrosion protection as needed
  • Clean panels with proper solvents and tack cloths before painting
  • Maintain a clean and organized prep area
  • Follow all safety and environmental regulations
  • Assist with moving vehicles in and out of the prep and paint areas
