Job Summary
Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and
within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor
Provides Supervision To: NA No supervision responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the clients care plan.
  • Provides trach/vent and G-Tube care, maintenance to medically complex children
  • Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
  • The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the clients care team.
  • Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
  • Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
  • Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current license to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of operation.
  • Experience with medically complex pediatrics a plus
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
