Position Highlights
The Research Security Program at the University of Arizona is in search of a Research Security Program Analyst. The primary purpose of this position is to analyze foreign interests, collaborations, affiliations, etc. in conflict disclosures.
Research Security is a program for safeguarding the University of Arizona's research enterprise against the misappropriation of research and development to the detriment of national or economic security, related violations of research integrity, and foreign government interference.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Independently analyze foreign interests, collaborations, affiliations, etc. in conflict disclosures to facilitate research security determinations in accord with federal regulations, state law, and ABOR and University policies, including identification of foreign influence, data integrity, and cybersecurity concerns.
- Implement and oversee research security mitigation plans required by research sponsors to address foreign interests, collaborations, affiliations, etc. to evaluate and ensure adherence to professional and legal standards.
- Prepare cybersecurity questionnaires and ensure cybersecurity plans are appropriately implemented to provide comprehensive support for the university's compliance and regulatory affairs program.
- Vet potential foreign collaborations, affiliations, etc.
- Prepare high-level compliance reports and presentation materials for senior management and provide actionable insights.
- Provide expert guidance on policy interpretation, regulatory frameworks, and disclosures.
- Mentor junior staff and student workers to support professional development and ensure consistency in the execution of departmental responsibilities.
- Facilitate outreach and training to the campus community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of electronic systems, including knowledge of system design, testing and implementation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to independently apply polices and procedures to varying fact patterns.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner to various stakeholders, including leadership and individuals outside of the University.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in related field.
- Prior conflict of interest and/or conflict of commitment experience.
- Prior research security experience.
- Prior cybersecurity experience.
- Experience with use of policies, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
- Experience with maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
