Job description

Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records. The Medical assistant is responsible for patient inquiries, telephone communications, relaying messages to the clinical staff and also maintenance of patient charts

Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination and administering medications as directed by physician

1) Schedule appointments for patients

2) Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, greeting and logging patients in and out, verifying insurance eligibility for patients

3) Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.

4) Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.

5) Record patients' medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.

6) Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.

7) Prepare exam rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.

8) Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

9) Inventory and order medical, lab, and office supplies and equipment
