Paid Emails focus on sending targeted email campaigns often involving paid promotion, while Email Marketing Specialists develop overall email strategies, create content, and analyze campaign performance. Both roles are essential in digital marketing but differ in scope and responsibilities.

What are Paid Emails?

Paid Emails are email marketing campaigns or newsletters that offer recipients compensation, such as cash, gift cards, or rewards, for reading or engaging with promotional emails. Companies use paid emails as a method of advertising, reaching potential customers directly in their inbox. Participants typically sign up through platforms that connect advertisers and users, and they earn money by reading, clicking, or taking action on the emails received. This form of marketing allows businesses to increase visibility while individuals can generate extra income. However, the earnings per email are generally small, and users should be cautious of scams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Email Marketing Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Email Marketing Specialist, you need expertise in content creation, audience segmentation, campaign analysis, and typically a degree in marketing or communications. Familiarity with email marketing platforms (like Mailchimp or HubSpot), A/B testing tools, and analytics systems is essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong written communication skills help you craft compelling messages that drive engagement. These skills are crucial for executing effective campaigns that build brand loyalty and generate measurable results.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals managing paid email campaigns?

Professionals managing paid email campaigns often face challenges such as optimizing open and click-through rates, maintaining a quality subscriber list, and ensuring compliance with regulations like CAN-SPAM and GDPR. Balancing engaging content with promotional messaging while avoiding spam filters is a frequent concern. Additionally, campaign managers must continuously test, analyze, and adjust strategies to maximize ROI and stay ahead of shifting audience preferences and industry trends.

Job description

Requirements

About ECP

ECP is a market-leading SaaS platform built for senior living communities. We help operators run more efficient communities and deliver better care to residents. Today, more than 8,500 communities across the U.S. run on ECP.

We're growing, and we're building the marketing team to match.

The Opportunity

We're hiring a Demand Generation Strategist to own pipeline from marketing. This is a new role - the foundation is in place, but there's real runway to build, test, and shape how demand gen works at ECP, including how AI fits into the mix. It's a chance to make a measurable impact on pipeline at a company that's already a market leader in senior living.

That means building, running, and improving the programs that move prospects from first touch to sales-accepted opportunity. You'll manage paid media, email, content campaigns, lifecycle programs, and generate qualified pipeline.

This role also sits at the intersection of marketing and AI. You'll actively use and build AI-powered workflows and tools to improve targeting, speed, and campaign output. Not as an experiment - as part of how the work gets done.

You'll report to the Marketing Director and work closely with Sales, Creative, and Content.

Responsibilities
  • Pipeline contribution from marketing campaigns
  • Full-funnel performance from first touch through opportunity creation
  • Multi-channel demand generation programs across paid, email, content, and events
  • AI tools and agent-based workflows that improve campaign performance and speed
  • Lead generation and nurturing programs in HubSpot - workflows, segmentation, routing
  • Conversion rate optimization across the funnel - visitor, lead, MQL, SAL, opportunity
  • A/B testing across campaigns, landing pages, and emails
  • Paid media (Google, Meta, etc) as part of a broader pipeline strategy
  • Campaign reporting focused on pipeline, not activity
  • Sales alignment on lead quality, follow-up, and SAL conversion
What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 4+ years in demand generation, performance marketing, or a closely related role
  • A track record of owning pipeline targets - not just running campaigns
  • Hands-on experience with Google Ads and Meta Ads
  • Proficiency in HubSpot - workflows, segmentation, reporting
  • Strong grasp of full-funnel metrics: MQL, SAL, opportunity creation, pipeline contribution
  • Experience translating funnel data into campaign decisions
  • Has built or actively uses AI tools or automations in a marketing context
  • Comfortable working directly with Sales, Creative, and Leadership
  • Strong written communication
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or healthcare technology
  • Familiarity with senior living, long-term care, or similar regulated markets
