Job description

Description:

The SpringHill Apprentice Program is now accepting applications for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. This is a 12-month experience for young adults to experience spiritual and vocational growth. Apprentices will join SpringHillโ€™s mission to create a place where young people can have life-impacting experiences that enable them to know Jesus Christ and grow in their relationship with Him. While living onsite at a camp, apprentices will get an inside look at the vocation of camping ministry. They will gain skills and experience that they will utilize beyond the program.


The 12-month program will begin on August 18, 2026, and finish on August 15, 2027.

Requirements:
  • Rotate among multiple positions at overnight camp to experience a wholistic view of professional camping.
  • Ensure a Gospel-centered, transformative experience at camp for both campers, leaders, and guests.
  • Safely and effectively operate all SpringHill activities to facilitate meaningful experience for guest groups and/or campers.
  • Participate in weekly developmental gatherings to grow spiritually, professionally, and personally.
  • Join other apprentices in community building events.
  • Receive leadership coaching and mentorship from SpringHill year-round staff
  • Collaborate with a variety of other SpringHill leaders.
  • Experience the SpringHill staff community at all-staff retreats.
  • Meet with Manager of Young Leader Development quarterly to discuss program and individual goals.
  • Complete all other duties assigned by Manager of Young Leader Development and other SpringHill leaders.

Experience and Qualifications Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission and ministry philosophy of SpringHill
  • Previous experience within a camp environment preferred
  • Must live onsite at camp in Evart, MI
  • Commitment to a 12-month program
  • Ability to exercise judgement and make good, sound decisions
  • Provide fun and engaging experiences for all SpringHill guests and campers
  • Experience within a ministry setting preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

ยท Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance
