PACU Registered Nurse

Main Hospital PACU 3 scheduled shifts and 1 call = 4 Start times vary from 0730 to 1030 12HR shifts (if working in Pre-op start time can be as early at 0600 Call: must be able to report to PACU within 30 minutes when on call CA lic required in hand Education: ADN Certification: ACLS, BLS, PALS 2-3 years of PACU/Critical Care Experience (adults and peds) Pre-op experience Proficiency in monitoring vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain management post-anesthesia. Knowledge of administering and titrating medications, including pain management and anesthesia reversal agents. Ability to recognize and respond to airway complications. Competence in starting and managing IV lines, including administering fluids and medications. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and accurate documentation of patient progress and interventions. Proficient in taking care of patients after various major surgeries including not limited to General, vascular, neuro, orthopedic surgery, trauma patients after surgery.
