Summary:

Supervises day-to-day operation of a 12-hour production shift by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees: Oversee entire shift for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity results for a minimum of 25 hourly employees.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots complex/critical processes or equipment and provides a hands-on approach to resolve.
  • Responsible for the safety of all employees within the department.
  • Support activities to increase safety awareness, boost morale.
  • Supervise Operators and monitor run conditions of production lines.
  • Assess training needs and administer training as necessary.
  • Assess talent and ensure the development of the team.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of operation.
  • Responsible for ensuring all production capacities are met.
  • Responsible for ensuring that only quality products are produced and distributed.
  • Maintains good housekeeping of the production facility.
  • Assists with employee performance evaluations and may counsel employees as needed.
  • Completes daily attendance reports for the department.
  • Manages problem-solving and continuous improvement for 1 Value Stream of product families. Responsible for the daily execution of the Pactiv Production System, including leader standard work, hour-by-hour reporting, Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings, and participation in kaizen improvement activities.
  • Supervisor of technicians, operators, and material handlers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience (supervisory role within a manufacturing facility preferred)
  • Basic Microsoft skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc).
  • Proficient in the English Language (read, write, talk).
  • Hands-on leadership
  • Capable of communicating in front of large groups and interacting with peers and site leaders.
  • Reliable/Dependable as it relates to completing work assignments.
  • Mechanical aptitude, analytical, design, problem solving, project management, strong technical skills, customer service, interpersonal, oral communication, written communication, teamwork, judgment, motivation, planning, organizing, professionalism, quality, quantity, safety, adaptability, attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, innovation, lean manufacturing.

Physical Requirements/ Environmental/ Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to constantly stand, walk, use hands, and arms
  • Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 70 pounds
  • Frequently required to push or pull items using force up to 95 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently climb 10-40 steps and occasionally climb 5-10 ladder rungs.
  • Able to work in differing temperatures.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required.
