Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting Sanitation Supervisor to lead the Sanitation crew.

  • Lead by example our Blue Star Vision, Mission, and Values

  • Assist the Sanitation Supervisor with assigning work tasks, leading, coordinating and supervising the sanitation crew
  • Assist the Sanitation Supervisor with maintaining supply inventory and monitoring proper labeling and storage of chemical containers and supplies
  • Fill in for the Sanitation Supervisor when they are absent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing varied jobs associated with the cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils, and facility, including but not limited to the proper use of chemicals at proper dosing, the operation and wash down of processing equipment, the use of sanitizers, the use of foamers, manual cleaning of equipment and utensils, sweeping/washing floors, etc.
  • Prepare sanitizing solutions for use throughout packing facility
  • Stay informed of Good Operating Practices, Sanitation Best Practices, and Industry Best Practices by attending outside training as required
  • Demonstrates commitment to food safety and continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean work area and constantly monitor equipment and packing facility for cleanliness issues
  • Work with chemicals and must be able to read and understand all labels, SDS sheets, and successfully complete training
  • Work around machinery and will be required to successfully complete training for lock-out/tag-out procedures
  • Follow all Company guidelines, rules, safety, SQF, and HAACP policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
