Job description

Position Overview:
The Group Leader assists in overseeing the daily production of bagged and boxed products, ensuring efficiency, teamwork, and adherence to quality standards. This role supports the supervisor by maintaining a safe work environment and coordinating the operation of various baggers (automated and manual), printers, boxing, stretch wrappers, tape machines, and other support equipment to optimize production.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Support:
    • Make sure the team stays on schedule and meets production goals.
    • Review orders for critical information and prepare products for shipment.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  2. Team Coordination:
    • Assign tasks and help team members as needed.
    • Be the go-to person for questions or concerns from the team.
  3. Quality Checks:
    • Keep an eye on product quality and report any problems to the supervisor.
    • Help ensure all products meet company standards.
  4. Safety and Rules:
    • Ensure team members follow safety guidelines and company policies.
    • Report any hazards or safety concerns.
  5. Communication:
    • Keep the supervisor updated on how things are going.
    • Share feedback from the team to improve processes.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a bagging, packing, or manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to lead by example and support team members.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and move around for most of the workday.
  • Capable of safely lifting and handling up to 50 pounds when required.
