Job description

DESCRIPTION
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sanitation Associate will be responsible for cleaning the warehouse, coolers, shipping dock and production area. In addition, the sanitation associate will sanitize the processing room and equipment after production activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Cleaning
  • Follows all workplace Environmental Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures. Includes compliance to food safety and HACCP program requirements.
  • Cleans warehouse areas including packing room, dry storage, coolers, docks and outside areas using various cleaning tools (i.e. broom, mop, brush, dustpan, cleaning chemicals, dust cloths).
  • Sweep and keep production floors clear of organic product waste, paper, plastic, wood and other trash during operations.
  • Removes trash buckets to disposal area and return empty buckets for line use.
  • Remove boxed waste product from production area and dispose in dumpster or disposal as directed.

Equipment Cleaning
  • Dry cleanup for equipment and floors prior to wet cleaning. Remove product as needed from machines and conveyors before wet cleaning.
  • Obtain chemicals and detergents as needed and mix to required concentrations for cleaning.
  • Clean equipment and floors
  • Re-clean equipment if necessary

Other Responsibilities
  • Clean, scrub and sanitize waste buckets and remove buckets that are too worn to be cleaned and sanitized properly.
  • Use floor scrubber to scrub floors in coolers, packing room, dry storage and shipping dock.
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and cleaning tools
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions include warm rooms and cooler areas. Work involves light lifting of tolls and product up to 50 pounds.
