Job description

Position: Packer/Crater
Shift: 2nd shift M-F 2:30pm-11:00pm
Location: Onsite, Anchor Fabrication, LaVergne
Anchor Fabrication, LLC is a precision metal fabrication company seeking a 2nd shift Packer/Crater.
Qualified candidates will be self-motivated and work under general supervision, support production, shipping and receiving by packing and crating products in accordance with customer specifications.
Essential Duties and Functions:
  1. Determines packing requirements and prepares for operation.
  2. Check shipping book and/or hot list to determine order for packing.
  3. Review shipping staging area for products/parts to be shipped.
  4. If products/parts are not in shipping staging area, have them moved from production area or QC staging area.
  5. Review current correspondence regarding customer packing changes.
  6. Pack/crate products/parts for shipment.
  7. Secure the proper size skid for parts.
  8. Weigh and count parts for bill of lading.
  9. Place parts on skid and band with wood on top.
  10. When required, use air gun to staple thin wood on side. If necessary, use plywood for base.
  11. For certain applications "shrink wrap" package per customer or for loading efficiency.
  12. Operate company vehicles when required.
  13. Move parts to shipping staging area by forklift.
  14. Use forklift to load completed packages on to truck.
  15. Unload wood from supplier for movement to stock area.
  16. Perform remaining activity to finalize operation.
  17. Remove pertinent shipping papers from ship book and give to shipping administrative assistant.
  18. Understand and, when requested, arrange for UPS shipments (air, ground COD, etc.).
