Job description

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Packing Foreman at our Leetonia, OH location.  The Packing Foreman coordinates the packing activity and schedule to meet the shipping truck schedule and customer due dates.

This will be a night shift position with rotating weekends: 6pm to 6am. This shift would work 3 days one week, 4 days the next and includes every other weekend. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Determines amount of packing material and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and assures packing materials are available.
  • Coordinates the packing activity per the production and shipping truck schedule.
  • Coordinates the shipping and receiving activity, schedules trucks for shipments to customers or outside processors. Completes all forms, paperwork, manifests, bill of lading as required.
  • Develops new part packing work instructions to meet customer requirements.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems as an individual or on a team and also assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Experience 

  • Previous experience in packing/shipping and receiving.

 

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities    

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Must have regular attendance.
