Desi Fresh Foods is a leading "cultured" dairy manufacturer with over 23 years of experience. We produce high-quality and consistent products, which include yogurt (Dahi or Indian, Greek and traditional), smoothies / yogurt drinks, sour cream, and dips from single serve options to food service side. We are currently seeking a skilled Packing Operator to join our team at our facility in Winchester, Virginia!
About the Role
As a Packing Operator at our yogurt processing facility, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining packing equipment to ensure the efficient and accurate packaging of yogurt products.
Two Shift Openings:
Day Shift
Night Shift
Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation:
  • Operate packing equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to package yogurt products efficiently and accurately.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Follow quality control policies and procedures to ensure that packaged products meet established standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections of packaged products for defects or abnormalities and take corrective action as needed.
Monitor packaging materials, such as film or containers, for proper alignment and functionality. Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating packing equipment and working in the production area.
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses immediately to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth coordination of packing activities.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, such as quality assurance and maintenance, to address any production-related issues or concerns
About You
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proven experience operating packing equipment or similar machinery in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • Physical ability to regularly lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and SOPs accurately.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • English proficiency for safety purposes.
