Job Summary:

The Pouch Packer is responsible for inspecting, counting, and packing finished flexible food pouches according to production and quality standards. This role supports lamination, slitting, and pouching operations by ensuring finished pouches are accurately packed, properly labeled, and ready for shipment to customers.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect finished food-grade pouches for defects such as poor seals, misalignment, contamination, or print issues.
  • Count and stack pouches according to job specifications and packing instructions.
  • Pack pouches into cartons or cases following designated quantities and lot labeling requirements.
  • Verify product information, job numbers, and label accuracy before boxing.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records (counts, defects, rework, etc.).
  • Assist machine operators with line changeovers, roll changes, and material handling.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
  • Ensure all finished pouches are handled to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Maintain a clean and organized packing area, removing scrap and debris regularly.
  • Communicate any quality or equipment concerns to the operator or supervisor immediately.
  • Support continuous improvement and safe work practices at all times.



Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in packaging or manufacturing, ideally in flexible packaging or food packaging, is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual defects.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.
  • Basic math and counting skills required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30-50 lbs safely.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts or overtime as required.



Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing floor environment with moderate noise, machinery, and movement of materials.
  • Regular handling of food-contact packaging materials (cleanliness and hygiene required).
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hairnets, earplugs, and safety shoes
