Job description

A globally prominent and highly reputable industrial manufacturing organization is seeking to hire a Procurement Manager to lead plant-level indirect purchasing and capital procurement activities within a complex manufacturing environment. Reporting into corporate Procurement leadership, this role will be responsible for driving procurement strategy execution at the site level, with a focus on MRO, tooling, services, and capital spend. The Procurement Operations Manager will lead a team of buyers and will partner closely with Operations Leadership, Engineering, Maintenance, and Finance to ensure continuity of supply, cost optimization, and alignment with broader business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead all plant-level indirect procurement and capital sourcing activities, including MRO, tooling, services, and project-based spend
  • Direct, develop, and mentor a team of Procurement professionals, establishing clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations
  • Execute procurement strategies aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring consistency, compliance, and value delivery at the site level
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance to support production continuity, capital projects, and cost improvement initiatives
  • Oversee supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract execution for indirect goods and services, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to address service, quality, or delivery issues
  • Drive cost savings initiatives across indirect spend categories while maintaining service levels and operational flexibility
  • Establish and track key procurement metrics, driving accountability for performance against plant and business unit targets
  • Ensure procurement processes, systems, and documentation meet internal controls and audit requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of formal leadership experience managing procurement, purchasing, or supply chain teams
  • Strong experience in indirect procurement, including MRO, services, and/or capital project sourcing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive alignment with corporate strategy
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar) and procurement-related processes and controls
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and problem-solving capabilities
