We are currently seeking a Packaging Machine Operator to work from our manufacturing facility located in Wilkes Barre, PA. The Packaging Machine Operator assists as back up in all the production processes and positions by supporting the production areas including Operating equipment, sanitation, stocking of inventory, and acting in back up roles as assigned.
This position is scheduled to work Mon-Fri 2:30pm- 11pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and operates packaging machines and equipment include, printers, labelers, and conveyors.
  • Responsible for proper packaging line set up.
  • Perform Daily Operator checklist at shift change and startup
  • Verifies proper operations and operating scales on packaging machines.
  • Loads rolls of film on skid for product run and puts away at end of shift.
  • Lifts fill rolls (up to 60 pounds) on to packing machine.
  • Lifts formers (up to 40 pounds) on to packaging machine.
  • Uses printers to ensure proper codes and prices are printed on bags, labels and cases.
  • Uses proper former and adjusts temperature to have a proper seal on all packages.
  • Selects correct program for Yamato Scale and TNA bag maker for scheduled SKUs.
  • Programs, troubleshoots and adjusts on scale and bag marker to ensure consistent feed for good bag weights.
  • Continuously monitors package for the following hourly: correct item weight, proper seal of package, bag integrity, proper code date and correct price. Records film usage data and calculate film waste percentage.
  • Operates shaker system to ensure product delivery to the correct machine.
  • Uses Lock Out Tag Out as required to always ensure safe operations.
  • Works harmoniously with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Completes all bag percentage reports and records end of day production. Check scanning errors and corrects.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
