Job Summary:
The Manager Brand Packaging is an influencer and expert in packaging solutions for their assigned product categories within the Merchandising Department. This team member partners with Buyers and Sourcing Managers to manage packaging projects to support product value and quality with brand led designs. Reports to the Director Brand Packaging.
WORK LOCATION DETAILS
Work Location: Home Office - Coppell, TX
Work Schedule: Hybrid
  • Onsite: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • Work from Home: Mondays and Fridays

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Define clear packaging standards and publish guidelines for assigned product categories
    • Partner with Buying teams to algin on packaging templates to communicate product features and benefits
  • Partner with Sourcing Managers to execute printed packaging in country
  • Partner with Quality Compliance Managers to ensure product claims are validated
  • Partner with Visual Managers to align packaging standards that support store space planning.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of packaging materials and industry packaging standards
  • Author design briefs to kick off and manage packaging projects and timelines for assigned product categories
  • Lead packaging solutions for new brand launches and category strategy changes.
  • Partner with external packaging print suppliers to meet defined packaging standards
    • Partner with product partners and print suppliers to ensure packaging directives are met and executed appropriately, including mockups for new packaging prototypes
    • Identify and communicate corrective actions with internal and external stakeholders to resolve packaging issues
    • Travel as required for trade shows, printer management and packaging training

Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of project management experience preferably with packaging
  • Packaging experience with corrugate, paper, fabric, plastics preferred
  • Expert with MS Office products
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (Illustrator, InDesign, PhotoShop)
  • Must be able to calculate correct sizes and color percentages for packaging
  • Presentation skills - including verbal, written and visual
  • Ability to develop/maintain strong working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong Influencer - comfortable with decision making, problem solving and providing solutions
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
  • Able to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
