Job description

SCOPE: Packages materials and customer products manually and, inspects materials, products and containers at each step of the packaging process, to assure packaging meets customer requirements.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Obtains and sorts product.

  • Washes parts and dries with air compressor.

  • Prepares boxes or special packaging/shipping kits to ship materials.

  • Cleans packaging containers, such as boxes or special packaging/shipping kits, by emptying them and wiping them out.

  • Lines and pads crates and assembles cartons for shipping.

  • Selects appropriate packaging materials to prevent items from being damaged during shipment.

  • Wraps protective material around product.

  • Seals product with protective plastic packaging.

  • Labels containers, container tags, or products for shipping, stock, or assembly.

  • Verifies quantity and labeling of products and items ready for shipment.

  • Secures containers by closing and sealing.

  • Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process.

  • Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.

  • Perform other related duties, tasks and or projects , as assigned

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY:


  • Packs and adjusts quantity of products to ensure that items fit securely in boxes to prevent damage during shipment
  • Counts or examines packaging and contents of items for conformance to customer's specifications.

Compares items with customer's order and and other identifying information to assure packaging meets customer requirements.
