Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of generic pharmaceutical products in the Eastern United States.
Job description:
The Packaging Mechanic is responsible for set ups and maintenance tasks on assigned production lines to ensure its smooth operation and must be capable of operating multiple machines at one time and performing maintenance on a variety of equipment within the bottle line packaging area.
Responsibilities:
- Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, and repairs to packaging and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform changeover and set-up of packaging machines as well as troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical systems and make appropriate repairs to machines.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on plant equipment such as packaging equipment, conveyors, and compressors.
- Inspect and evaluate changeover and set-up of packaging machines and packaging equipment with diagnostic and testing equipment including multimeters, process calibrators, tachometers, automated vision systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) applying theoretical and practical knowledge of mechanical engineering;

- Minimum 2 years' experience in nutritional supplements, food, and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries in a maintenance mechanic role.
- Ability to read, comprehend and where necessary complete items including a blueprint, an electrical schematic, operating and maintenance manuals, a work order, repair parts request, standard and metric tape measure, and other measuring equipment including a micrometer, a caliper, scale and VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter).
