Packaging SpecialistDepartment: Post-Harvest / PackagingReports To: Packaging SupervisorPosition Summary

The Packaging Specialist is responsible for accurately weighing, packaging, labeling, and preparing cannabis products for distribution in strict compliance with Ohio state regulations and company standards. This position requires precision, speed, consistency, and full adherence to all rules established by the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control (DCC). The role involves repetitive tasks and requires the ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately weigh cannabis flower into final retail pouches in 2.83g and 14.15g increments using calibrated scales.
  • Perform quality control checks on packaged goods to ensure accuracy in weight, labeling, seal integrity, and overall presentation.
  • Ensure all packaged products meet company quality standards and DCC regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control (DCC).
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to weighing, packaging, labeling, and product handling.
  • Verify batch numbers, product information, warning labels, and compliance statements for accuracy.
  • Properly seal and prepare finished goods for vault storage or distribution.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure packaging environment.
  • Follow all workplace safety, sanitation, and security protocols.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain required Ohio cannabis employee credentials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous packaging, production, manufacturing, or cannabis industry experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements throughout shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
