Job Summary
The Packaging Lead is responsible for the safe and accurate packaging and labelling of all products. Working with the Packaging Manager, the Packaging Lead will ensure packaging schedules are executed as well as maintaining the chain of integrity of our premium cannabis products from processing to patient.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Arrive before the rest of the team to set up workstations for the day including tables, chairs, weight scale, product buckets near stations, packaging material, etc.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in accordance with operational, sanitation, and safety SOPs.
  • Communicate with the manager to find out the production plan, crew set up and tasks for the day.
  • Display and maintain the scheduling on white board.
  • Supervise the room, maintaining a safe work environment and assisting team members when needed.
  • Manage system movements in LEAF LOGIX by following SOPs.
  • Assist with METRC collection, ensuring accurate tracking and logging.
  • Make sure processors stay on track and are working to their fullest potential.
  • Alert the manager before leaving the room so someone is available to supervise in absence.
  • Train newly hired employees on different tasks, ensuring they can meet daily production goals.
  • Supervise cleanup at end of shift - making sure everything is clean, swept, and put away properly.
  • Assists in fostering a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for "everything cannabis".

Qualifications
  • Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies
  • Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies
  • Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Education
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Equivalent combination of work/education experience accepted

Experience
  • 1-3 years' experience working in a regulated environment, in commercial food/medical production or clean room processes, and in labeling rules and regulations
  • Experience in a high-volume production facility/continuous production line.
  • Familiarity with multiple packaging technologies such as automated flow-wrapping, bottle filling, blister packing, backer carding and heat shrinking equipment. Other characteristics such as personal characteristics

Working conditions
  • The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
  • The working area may be odorous at times and loud due to fans and filtration systems, fluctuating between cold and warm temperatures.

Physical requirements
  • Sitting, standing, and walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift.
  • Constant movement of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Constantly operates extraction machinery and other productivity equipment.
  • Must be able to inspect and detect quality defects.
  • Occasional lifting, positioning, or moving items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work on weekends or alternate shifts.
