Job description

US Farathane is seeking a Packaging Engineer at our Corporate Tech Center. The Packaging Engineer is responsible for packaging development and implementation for US Farathane to meet requirements of our customer base.
This position sits fully onsite in Auburn Hills, MI
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement returnable and expendable packaging to support programs to the requirements of our customers for production, service and export.
  • Develop and implement work in process packaging at USF plants.
  • Support US Farathane in quoting future business opportunities to customer requirements.
  • Support our manufacturing locations with packaging related concerns on current programs from our customers.
  • Lead packaging cost save initiatives for internal goals and customer requests.
  • Purchase Packaging for production and prototype builds
  • Develop and implement documentation of packaging
  • Support customer packaging online systems

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years packaging experience, preferably with injection molding experience
  • Knowledge of logistics, transportation alternatives and customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow needs.
  • Knowledge of / experience in packaging testing related to automotive.
