Job description

Job Title:                  Art Direction / Conceptual Package Design Associate II

Department:            Global Marketing

Salary Range:         $66,799 - $82,517 per year plus an annual bonus

Salary Grade:         EX1_14  

Location:                 Ada, MI

*Note: This position is a hybrid remote/office role, and you must be able to report in person to Ada on Mondays through Thursdays as part of our collaboration days* 

What do we need:

We are looking for a creative conceptual Graphic & Package Designer to develop innovative packaging solutions that enhance our brands for global consumers. We seek someone who is detail oriented and creates innovative conceptual product design with creative visual graphics.  You should have a strong understanding of design principles, materials, and production processes, and can translate marketing and branding strategies into effective packaging designs and presentations.  In this role, you will collaborate closely with Brand Managers, Packaging Engineers, Creative Project Managers, and the Creative Solutions team.  Additionally, you will partner with external agencies and creative partners, to support products and brands that attract consumers and help Amway Business Owners sell our products and build their business.  If you have capabilities in 3D design software’s, it would be a big plus in this role.

This role provides a global platform for you to showcase your talent and expertise in conceptual package design.  You will work cross functionally with a dynamic and creative team, using your strong graphic & packaging design background to lead the visual and conceptual design for packaging in global markets.  Your understanding of design principles, consumer behavior, and branding strategies will provide a platform to create packaging that communicates the brand identity and captures the attention of consumers. This role will provide broad exposure to a fun, fast-paced, varied and collaborative work environment, along with opportunities for professional development and growth. 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in conceptual package design (portfolio required)
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience as a Packaging Designer or similar role
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and 3D modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials, printing processes, and production techniques
  • Excellent visual and spatial design skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to present concepts to partners and leaders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging practices is a plus

  • Collaborate with the marketing, product development, and production teams to create packaging designs that meet brand standards and project requirements
  • Develop and present design concepts, mock-ups, and prototypes for new packaging

  • Select appropriate materials and production techniques to ensure cost-effective and sustainable packaging solutions
