Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Must have previous experience operating a Horizontal Form, Fill, and Seal packaging machine - Bartelt experience a plus!
  • Set up HFFS machine readying them for production.
  • Change over machine for various production runs.
  • Troubleshoot machine when malfunctions occur.
  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled products to standard. Adjust machines as necessary to gain or maintain compliance.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports related to the work regarding equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Replenish packaging supplies for line operators
  • Ensure coder is operational, and code printed on each product coming out of the machine is accurate.
  • Perform regular product quality checks, ensuring product meets specifications.
  • Complete cleaning procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and understand both oral and written instructions.
  • Ensure the proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities on a wide range of hydraulic, pneumatic and various support equipment.
  • Load and unload freight

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required (Associates Degree in a technical field preferred)
  • Trade School Certification a plus.
  • High-energy, flexible, self-starter, hands-on and mechanical nature.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Abide by Health and Safety regulations
  • 5+ years of experience in machine repair, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of basic hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems along with safety issues
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day
