Shipping and Packaging Assistant

Job Goal:

The Shipping and Packaging associate is responsible for packaging products and preparing them for shipping both locally and internationally.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.

Issue written and oral instruction to the shipping floor.

Standardize procedures to ensure efficiency of workers.

Ensure correct shipment of orders.

Assist employees with packaging and shipping issues.

Ensure materials shipped match records, manifests, invoices, or orders.

Record shipment data, such as weight and dimensions, very accurate piece counts, train new hires, maintain updated safety reports.

Work daily with Inspection, Quality, Manufacturing and Production Control to maintain on time delivery of shipments.

Prepare documents, including but not limited to, work order updates, crate packing lists, and update daily production control shipping matrix for AM meeting.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Highschool degree or equivalent, and one year of related experience and/or training in the field.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm. Must be available for overtime and work weekends when necessary.
