Position Overview
Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the Packaging Assistant will:
  • Safely and effectively operates and controls equipment and instrumentation in the assigned manufacturing unit.
  • Maintains and monitors process equipment in accordance with established procedures and processes.
  • Maintains and improves safety in the unit and is responsible for housekeeping in operating areas.
  • Receives raw materials to produce finished products at the specified quality level.
  • Supports and adheres to the principles of Responsible care and applicable requirements by protecting the environment and assuring the health, safety, and security of our employees, vendors, customers, suppliers, and our community.
  • Performs additional work as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • Works in packaging of agricultural chemicals, including fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the packaging process, working with raw materials and packaging material and overseeing all steps of the process.
  • Makes necessary adjustments to equipment
  • Uses forklifts to move drums, totes, and pallets
  • Meet quality standards without delaying production
  • Maintains a clean and safe workplace

The Qualifications
The right candidate will be a safety-focused, motivated individual who can work both independently and as a team. Your qualifications ideally include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to work overtime to support a continuous operation as needed to meet business obligations.
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Manufacturing experience is preferable
