Job description

RK&K is hiring aConstructionInspectorto join ourConstructionEngineering andInspection(CEI) team in the North Florida area. As aConstructionInspectorat RK&K you will inspect and document various processes, procedures, materials and safety for contractors on roadway and bridgeconstructionprojects in the heavy civil industry.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for performing assignments in assisting the Project Administrator or SeniorInspectorin daily roadwayinspection
  • Verify contractor compliance alongsidequality control
  • Perform inspections andtestingas required
  • Testingand inspections include but are not limited to earthwork,asphalt,concrete, bridge structures, toll facilities, lighting, pavement markings, signing and signalization, and other roadway safety components
  • This position receives general supervision and instruction from the SeniorInspectoror Project Administrator

Required Skills and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience inconstruction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been bridge and/or roadwayconstruction inspectionor an Engineer Intern with aCivil Engineeringdegree (requires certificate) having the ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within one (1) year

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs. Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
