Job description

Molding Material Handler

We are seeking a Molding Material Handler looking to grow with us! We are looking for a Material Handler to assist the Molding Supervisor to meet production goals and ensure that machines are properly operational. They will assist in all production areas as needed. Forklift certification required-willing to train an experienced manufacturing operator.

Available Shifts:

2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm with a $1.00 Shift Differential

Your Day to Day:

  • Pull and stage colorants/ additives off racks to prepare for color changes.
  • Record beginning/ ending weights on workorders and gaylords and return colorants/ additives to rack once production order has been completed.
  • Assure that all colorants/ additives remain full throughout the entire shift.
  • Assist Molding Supervisor with breaks and lunch so machines stay operational.
  • Move finished pallets to QC inspection/ tagging area near supervisor desk.
  • Move inspected pallets to receipt to stock area.
  • Assist with rail car changeovers.
  • Assure that all boxes/ pallets are staged on the production floor as needed.
  • Boxing (or packing) modular tile products on an assembly line.
  • Operate 2-3 molding machines at a time; Must be able to keep up with a fast-paced, repetitive environment.
  • Visually inspects products for quality and defects to provide high level products for customers.
  • Start/ stop injection presses and coating lines as needed.
  • Communicate and cooperate with personnel from different departments.
  • Will use forklift to move product.
  • Promote a safe working environment.
  • General housekeeping duties including sweeping, etc. to keep all work areas clean.
  • Comply with ISO 9001 standard and 5S Visual Workplace/Lean Manufacturing
  • Fulfill other job duties as assigned by supervision.

What We Would Love About You:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing facility maintenance, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment, etc.
  • 2 years of experience with injection molding
  • Knowledge of chilled water system
  • Experience with lathes, grinders, micrometers, and calipers and most hand tools and hand power tools
  • Electrical knowledge in control circuits
  • Forklift Certification (willing to certify)
  • Good communication skills
