Could you be the full-time onsite Civil Engineering Design Specialist in Toronto, ON, CA we're looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your extensive civil engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and dedicated teammates. You'll be instrumental in shaping the landscape of our projects by being responsible for directing the coordination across systems. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Project Management, BIM Specialists, and Quality Assurance), lead integration design, prepare scope of work, prepare project specifications, coordinate transferring essential information, align design with the clients and industrial standards, checking design calculations, attend coordination meeting and much more.

We'll look to you for:

  • Coordinate internal Civil design and external Civil subcontractors and specialist subcontractors' activities.
  • Managing design packages from inception to construction for Overhead Catenary System (OCS) foundations, OCS anchoring to structures, TPF site/buildings, signalling equipment Foundations and Cable containment systems etc.
  • Work with Design Manager, defining and creating Scope documents for Civil Design Subcontractors including preparation of Business cases
  • Managing schedule for the deliverables
  • Monitor quality and deliverables

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field,
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience within the field,
  • Knowledge of Civil Design principles for complex foundations, groundworks, grading, formwork, and cable/piping ways,
  • Excellent communication skills to lead meetings and interface with various teams,
  • Proven ability to manage and direct subcontractor activities,
  • Experience or understanding of coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Experience with using the national and international codes
  • Design experience with Structural and Civil scope
  • Previous experience with Design or/and Construction of railway projects is an asset

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $90,000 - $125,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
