Job description

US LBM is one of the leading and fastest growing distributors of specialty building materials in the United States, with a team of over 13,000 employees located throughout the country. Since our founding in 2009, we have acquired over 100 companies and have expanded to more than 450 locations serving 37 states. US LBM is a progressive organization that promotes a unique culture that focuses on the value of its customers and associates. Developing our people is critical to our strategy and fostering our culture of empowerment.

.

A Brief Overview

The US LBM Sr. Product Manager, Procure-to-Pay is responsible for the innovation, development, and optimization of US LBM's Procure-to-Pay (P2P) technology platform, spanning purchasing and requisitions, vendor onboarding and management, invoice capture and matching, approvals, and accounts payable. This position will collaborate with the digital product management leadership team, senior procurement, operations, and finance leaders across purchasing, AP, and controllership, engineering, and key business stakeholders to execute a digital product strategy that reduces cost, improves spend visibility and control, and drives operational excellence across the organization.

This is a defining role in US LBM's move to an AI-First operating model. Paired closely with the Lead Engineer, the Sr. Product Manager will co-own use-case discovery and rapid prototyping, working across the organization to find where AI and modern software can create real business value and then quickly proving those ideas out. If you want to shape how a 13,000-associate company applies AI to run and grow its business, this is that role.

What you will do

  • Paired with the Lead Engineer, co-own use-case discovery and rapid prototyping, identifying and validating AI and technology opportunities across the organization and turning them into working proof-of-concepts that demonstrate business value.
  • Champion an AI-First approach to product, using AI to accelerate discovery, decisions, and delivery, and prioritizing the use cases that put AI to work for the business.
  • In collaboration with the Digital Product Management team, drive a technology product roadmap that helps US LBM Sell the Whole Home by making it effortless to source, buy, receive, and pay, while giving our internal teams the tools to control spend, capture and match invoices, and pay suppliers accurately and on time.
  • Use data and high-quality business judgement to develop analytical insights that drive both strategy and tactics for implementation success for the business leaders, including measures such as invoice cycle time, touchless (straight-through) processing rate, on-time payment, discount capture, and spend under management.
  • Work with partners in procurement, AP, operations, finance, engineering, business process, and data analytics teams to get digital product solutions designed, built, deployed, and optimized to deliver business impact.
  • Be a great business partner, focused on collaboration to drive results.

Required For All Jobs

Experience Qualifications

  • Experience in strategic planning, digital product lifecycle management, technology build vs. buy decision making, and customer-centric innovation.
  • Strong background in leveraging analytics to guide strategic decisions, with experience in data science a plus.
  • Experience in building materials, supply chain, B2B distribution or related industries a plus.
  • Experience discovering, prioritizing, and delivering AI or data-driven product use cases, and partnering closely with engineering to prototype and validate them.
  • Experience with procure-to-pay, accounts payable, invoice automation, and spend management platforms, with hands-on experience configuring and optimizing solutions such as Medius (AP automation and invoice processing) and Coupa (procurement and spend management).
  • Proven ability to leverage P2P technology to increase touchless invoice processing, improve spend visibility and control, capture early-payment discounts, and strengthen supplier and three-way-match workflows.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to establish and drive technology product innovation to deliver operational efficiency.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and drive key strategic initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools to inform product features and business impact.
