Job Title: Carrier Sales Representative
Job summary: The primary duty of the Carrier Sales Representative is to develop relationships with prospective carriers to generate repeat sales and maximize Pickett Logistics margins.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Generate new carrier base via load boards, networking, and cold calling
- Negotiate contract and spot market lanes with carriers
- Communicate shipment specific details directly to carrier and driver via various methods
- Work closely with ops team to ensure that customer expectations and delivery requirements are met
- Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of trucks to ensure that the flow of product in and out meets customer demands.
- Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment (Track & Trace)

Required Hours of the Job: Varies, but average work day is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Afterhours and/or weekends may be required to meet customer’s needs.
Preferences:
1-year transportation and logistics experience
