Job Description

Located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, QSL Transport specializes in the hauling of heavy equipment, over dimensional loads and wind turbines throughout United States and Canada. We are a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions to world-class businesses in the rail, energy and manufacturing industries. QSL Transport is committed to continuous improvement, with a focus on performance and operational excellence. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely transport oversize, overweight, and specialized freight within designated local and regional operating areas.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment remains safe and compliant.
  • Secure cargo using chains, binders, straps, tarps, and other approved load securement methods.
  • Follow permit requirements, approved routes, escort instructions, and all applicable transportation regulations.
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and required transportation documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, escorts, and operations personnel.
  • Support safe and efficient project execution while representing the company professionally.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCEED:

  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for oversize heavy haul transportation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in oversized heavy haul transportation.
  • Experience with permits, escorts, and oversize routing preferred
  • Strong safety record and commitment to compliance
  • Ability to handle irregular routes within the Midwest region
  • Ideal for experienced drivers seeking flexible, project-based oversize work
    Qualifications

    WHAT WE OFFER:

    • Hourly Rate: $30.84/hour (base rate)
    • Signing Bonus: $2,500
    • Flexible local heavy haul work supporting specialized customer projects
    • Training & Development: Work with state-of-the-art equipment and gain experience in specialized heavy haul operations

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    • Local routes – Primarily local routes with most work returning home same day
    • Primarily flatbed, RGN, or Step Deck, oversize, and specialized cargo projects
    • Operations focused across Indiana, Illinois and Michigan
    • Schedule based on project and operational needs; hours may vary week to week
