Role Overview

The Forklift driver will perform all functions related to receipt of goods, put-away into warehouse, replenishment of pick areas, manual order processing, order auditing, shipment preparation, pallet building, truck loading and cycle counting inventory. All functions may require use of powered industrial trucks, SAP or RF as needed.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Receives product from domestic and overseas vendors, transfers, customer returns, refused shipments, and non-inventory support products.
  • Accurately audits and verifies all incoming quantities for entry into computerized inventory.
  • Performs on and off-site warehousing duties to include: the initial movement of materials to appropriate locations, effective space utilization, and material retrieval delivery, using powered industrial equipment as needed.
  • Performs order fulfillment duties to include: reviewing and prioritizing available orders, determining stock requirements and maintaining levels of required inventory, physically picking and packing orders, auditing and verifying picked orders, preparing completed orders for shipping, using SAP and RF as needed.
  • Performs shipping duties to include: Locating pallets to the dock, performing dock audits, verifying driver information, loading shipments on to trucks, properly filling out and signing BOL, tracking shipments, using SAP and RF as needed.
  • Ensures safety and quality standards are consistently followed.
  • Performs sortation duties to include: lifting cartons at sortation, palletizing cartons, printing pallet tickets, moving freight to the dock, using SAP and RF as needed.
  • Ensures full compliance with Company policies, procedures, GMPโ€™s, Ethical Business Practice, and SOPโ€™s at all times. Ensures documentation such as operation logs, batch records, etc. are fully completed, signed and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles start up and shut down duties pertaining to equipment at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Maintains proper gowning and hygiene to ensure integrity of the product as per company policies.
  • Works extended hours and occasional weekend overtime.
  • Works in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace. Complies with all job-related safety and other training requirements.

Requirements

Education & Qualification:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years in distribution/warehousing
  • Minimum of one (2) year work experience in nutritionalโ€™s, supplements, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries
  • Valid driverโ€™s license

Certifications, Licenses, Credentials:

  • N/A

Skills & Ability

  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team and assist others.
  • Able to follow written instructions precisely and perform basic math calculations as required.
  • Understands and is knowledgeable of cGMP, OSHA standards etc.
  • Mechanically inclined to understand inner workings of equipment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read and write basic English in order to be able to understand the industry regulated instruction sheets.
  • Prior experience driving sit-down and stand-up PITs and ticketing experience helpful
  • Must pass forklift certification process (both written and driving tests)

Physical Requirements (lifting, etc.):

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must stand and walk on production floor a minimum of 6 hours per shift
  • Uses hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects or controls, lifting to waist height and/or above shoulder height, frequent bending from waist, or squatting, walking short distances.
  • Occasionally works from a rolling ladder or step stool, must be to lean over equipment as well as kneeling on the floor to clean under the equipment.
  • Must be able wear all PPE including lab coat, face mask, booties, gloves, safety glasses/goggles and respirators.

Work Environment (Office, Warehouse, temperature extremes, etc.):

  • Work is regularly performed inside a manufacturing environment where temperatures can be moderate, exposure to dust, odors, noise, and fumes. The noise level is usually moderate. Employee can be exposed daily to chemicals and cleaning agents.
