Do you strive to set yourself apart by your gracious service and impeccable style? Are you passionate and energetic about delivering exceptional experiences to guests in the premier luxury hotel in downtown Milwaukee? If so, The Pfister is looking for an individual to be a part of our team and continue its iconic legacy.

As an Engineer II - 3rd Shift at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for keeping all building systems and equipment in good repair with minimal downtime by providing both day-to-day and preventative maintenance. Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, you will support the improvement of engineering services for both guests and associates, while sharing your knowledge and skills with the team.

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for 46 consecutive years. The hotel is one of only 11 properties throughout North America to maintain the AAA Four Diamond designation since the inception of the Diamond Rating program in 1976.

What you will be doing:

Perform daily shift reports, documenting all calls in the engineer's log and closing out calls through the operator.

Follow OSHA standards and procedures, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Maintain interior and exterior building spaces to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational quality.

Provide excellent guest and associate service by responding promptly, efficiently, and courteously to requests.

Perform preventative maintenance on all fixtures, furniture, and equipment (FF&E).

Assist in cost control for utilities including heat, power, light, sewer, and water.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the following:
- All building systems and FF&E
- HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration)
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical equipment (motors, starters, pumps, fans, generators, chillers)
- Plumbing and drains
- Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls

Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum, maintaining appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, and uniform appearance.

Make recommendations for improved methods and procedures to enhance guest and associate satisfaction.

Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings.

         Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous engineering or maintenance experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret Lockout Tag Out procedures, MSDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

Strong communication skills with both guests and associates.

Ability to work independently, analyze problems, determine solutions, and take corrective action.

Proficient with hand and power tools.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist, and stretch during shifts.

Must be punctual, in uniform, and ready for work as scheduled.

Flexible with a positive attitude, representing the hotel in a courteous and professional manner.

Must adhere to the Engineers Union Local 420 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option to obtain union membership after 90 days of employment.

What's in it for you?

         Complimentary, well-balanced meal every shift.

Room discounts at Marcus Hotels & Resorts and Historic Hotels of America properties.

Savings at Marcus Hotels & Resorts restaurants, cafes, lounges, golf courses, ski resorts, and spas.

Discounted parking and "two-for-one" Marcus Theatres movie tickets.

Career growth opportunities, with the ability to transfer between properties while maintaining service credit.

Early wage access, paid time off, and company-paid life insurance.

Medical, dental, and vision insurance available after 30 days of employment.

Employee Assistance Program and 401(k) with employer match.
