C2 Environmental, Inc. is a small, woman-owned business located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We focus on environmental planning, permitting and compliance services for a variety of clients including regional utility providers, commercial developers, federal agencies, educational institutions, local governments, and private sector developers. We are well-known for our work in the energy and infrastructure sectors where we provide a suite of services for the permitting and construction of linear energy projects, commercial sites, and waterfront facilities. C2 Environmental is seeking a qualified individual to join our growing team as an Regulatory Specialist.

Job Description:

The Regulatory Specialist position is responsible for a variety of project support tasks. Primary duties will include permit application preparation and coordination, database review and environmental constraint analysis, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan development, report writing, GIS map production, and other office and field-related functions. The qualified applicant will have experience in permit application and document preparation, and experience with GIS. Knowledge of Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting and department of transportation land use permitting is helpful but not required. The position requires coordination with clients and agency representatives in both written and verbal formats. The position requires periodic field work primarily in but not limited to Virginia and North Carolina. 

The current position is offered on a full-time basis with staff level dependent on level of experience. Qualifications:

The qualified applicant will possess the following required skills and attributes:

  • B.S. or similar degree in an environmentally-related field of study;
  • 0-3 years experience with preparation of a variety of Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permit types including Nationwide Permit Pre-Construction Notifications, VWP General permits, CAMA permits, and Individual Permits;
  • Experience with ArcPro is highly desired;
  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work well in diverse groups of people and without direct supervision;
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote job site locations, with overnight stays, as needed;
  • Physically able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains, including both biological and physical extremes;
  • Applicants must be a citizen or national of the U.S., a Lawful Permanent Resident, or an alien authorized to work.
